Journal Article 1403/09/14 <p>The colonization of Islamic societies by the West during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries generated numerous reactions. Muslim intellectuals sought to understand the causes behind the decline of Islamic societies, which had led them into a position of defeat vis-à-vis the West. Many responses were proposed, foremost among them the attempt to locate the roots of this decline within Muslim societies themselves. Accordingly, thinkers such as Ayatollah Kharqani in Iran, Sayyid Qutb in Egypt, and Maududi in India classified Islamic society into historical phases similar to those of the period of the Prophet’s mission, in an effort to identify a path out of the crisis faced by Islamic societies under extensive cultural, political, and social pressures. In their view, contemporary Muslim societies resemble the pre-prophetic era, and the state of jahiliyyah affecting them may even be more intense than during the time of the Prophet. The present study seeks, through a comparative approach, to examine the concept of jahiliyyah in the thought of these three thinkers.</p> <p class="a" dir="RTL"><span lang="AR-SA" style="font-size: 10.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'B Zar';">استعمار جوامع اسلامی توسط غرب در قرن نوزدهم و بیستم میلادی واکنش‌های فراوانی را به همراه داشت. متفکران مسلمان تلاش کردند تا در خصوص چرایی افول جوامع اسلامی که باعث شد، نسبت به غرب در موضع شکست قرار بگیرند، چاره‌جویی کنند. پاسخ‌های بسیاری به این امر صورت گرفت که در صدر آن یافتن دلایل این افول در میان خود مسلمانان بود. از همین رو متفکرانی نظیر آیت‌الله خرقانی در ایران، سیّد قطب در مصر و مودودی در هند با تقسیم‌بندی جامعه اسلامی به دوره‌هایی نظیر آنچه در ایام بعثت واقع‌شده بود، تلاش کردند تا راهی برای برون‌رفت از شکست جوامع اسلامی در مقابل هجمه‌های وسیع فرهنگی، سیاسی، اجتماعی و غیره پیدا کنند. در نگاه آن‌ها جوامع کنونی مسلمان همانند دوره پیش از بعثت هستند و چه‌بسا جاهلیتی که دامن‌گیر آنان شده بسیار شدیدتر از ایام پیامبر باشد. پژوهش حاضر تلاش دارد تا از رهگذر مطالعه تطبیقی به بررسی مفهوم جاهلیت در اندیشه این سه متفکر بپردازد.</span></p> https://www.journalspe.com/index.php/spe/article/download/121/95
